According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services,
breastfeeding has many benefits for infants. Breast milk has disease-fighting
antibodies that help protect infants from germs, illness and SIDS. It can
lower the risk of ear infections, stomach viruses, respiratory infections,
atopic dermatis, asthma, obesity, diabetes, childhood leukemia and
necrotizing enterocolitis (a gastrointestinal disease in preterm infants). |
